New Camaro

I went to the Los Angeles Car show last week and saw the new Camaro. It is truly awesome. I fell in love with the outside, but I thought the Interior gauges and steering wheel were a little goofy looking. My wife was there and we agreed to buy one in the 2nd year it was out. I have learned the hard way about buying a new car the first year it comes out (bugs). The car they had on display was a convertible, but I think the pictures of the hardtop I have seen look much tougher, which I am sure I will go with, even though I live in a climate with 300 plus sunny days a year.

I was very suprised Dodge didn't have the new challenger there. I thought of deciding between the two, but now I hear Dodge is in trouble again and the only thing attractive is their life time warranty on drivetrains. Of course if they are not around in 10 years, what good is that? I think having a new Camaro and my 70 cuda is a good trade off hehehe.

Just my two cents :)

Must have pics of your 70 'cuda! :D (I wish it was a 71 ;) )

I may be wrong, but I don't believe the lifetime warranty applies to any SRT vehicles.

Screw the cuda, lets see that 68 bird :D

Dodge is in less "trouble" than it was a year ago, IMO. They have better management, access to more capital, and an ownership that actually wants them to succeed now.

The lifetime warranty does not apply to SRT cars. Assuming the program is still going next fall, you'll be able to get it on a 380-400 hp 5.7 Hemi Challenger, not on a 435+ hp 6.1 car.

like they have said before, the bugs thing is pretty much out of the picture. this is a new age where things are getting perfected the first time around. gm already said that they were not worried about having any kind of bugs with this car. and if there is, thats what the warranties for right???

I purchased a first year redesign of the Cavalier back in 1995. Never had a single bug or problem in 5 years 100,000miles.

It doesn't. All Vipers are considered SRT vehicles.

It doesn't cover diesels either...not that they would have a diesel Challenger...just pointing that out.

This is correct Silverado. The lifetime does not apply to SRT vehicles

I went to the LA show also, they said the concept there was 90 to 95 % correct to how the new Camaro was going to look. So that means the 21" rear wheels and the 20" front wheels and the side mirrors and the sidemarkers will probably change.

Yes I believe it has been talked about on here that the wheel size will change along with side mirrors, door handles, and a b-pillar. Also the overall dimensions will be slightly different.

They are both good looking cars, but I believe the challenger is 4200 lbs. Too hefty for my taste.
