Mark Ruess, Executive Vice President, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply for General Motors made the following comments this week in a Motor Trend interview "If you like the ZL1 today, you're going to love the SS tomorrow."

Look at what some of the competition did on their next-gen -- it's heavier; it doesn't quite perform as well as the last one. I can tell you that. If you think about Z/28 and ZL1, SS -- think about the satisfaction that a ZL1 offers you today off of current Zeta. Think about that satisfaction moved down from an accessibility and model-range standpoint. Think about that. If you like the ZL1 today, you're going to love the SS tomorrow. Think about that from a philosophical standpoint.
If I'm reading and understanding this correctly then all I can say is holy @#$%!!

Well when you put 460 HP in a 3600lb car it should be quicker than 580 in a 4100 lb car.

Less mass to get moving equals quicker acceleration.

I love the 5th Gen but it was a car of compromises the 6th Gen will be awesome.
