I will say it felt like 90% of my LS1 Camaro when it was stock. Then again, it had been a while since that time, but it was terrifically impressive regardless...dare I say..."for a V6". Some of the greatest cars ever made were about the driving experience just as much as sheer power numbers. The driving experience of the V6 2010 Camaro makes up for that 10% and then some. You'll see.

Hard to tell without doing a head to head comparison together. .
I'd say the 5th gen V6 will hold its own.. but I think an LS1 will take it. LT1s???? that could get close.
It'll be interesting to see timeslips, thats for sure.

I'm guessing with 300 horsepower, it should easily touch 155 if it isn't.
If so, that makes an even stronger case for buying the V6 and just might make it the cheapest car in the US to reach that top speed if you don't have to buy packages to have a governed-free top end.
BTW, CLEAN, the LT1 typically ran to 60 in the upper 5 second range. The V6 5th gen Camaro was estimated at 6 flat, but according to a couple of people on the project, they are going to aiming for consistent sub-6 second times before they finalize the programing, if that helps put it into perspective.

For the total driving experience, the V6 is right up there IMHO. An incredibly responsive engine/tranny combo. I drove the manual
With respect to acceleration, the V6 will not dethrone the LT1 or LS1 in a 0-60 or 1/4 mi. contest, but it will still give an excellent account of itself and it's an absolute blast to run up through the gears! Gotta love the RPM range on this baby - not to mention the sound!!
The LT1 is a beast with its low end torque, but it runs out of breath relatively early, which is exactly when the LS1 catches fire - in the upper RPM range.
On a number scale, if the LS1 is a 10, then the LT1 would be an 8 in the 1/4 mi or a 9 in 0-60 dash. The V6 5th Gen would rate a solid 7-8 in my book.

Early LT1 cars were 5.6-5.7 in a 0-60 dash with the later 285 HP versions turning a couple of ticks faster. I would be quite surprised if a stock 5th Gen V6 had difficulty breaking into the 5's on a regular basis.
FWIW, my L67 Bonneville LE stripper with a pulley and 9" open cone K&N runs a 5.9 - 6.0 0-60 on the G-Tech and has 14.5x timeslips (on cool nights) to back that up.
The 5th Gen V6 definitely felt a bit quicker than my Bonny...

All cars are electrontically governed -- based on the tire rating symbol on the car as it leaves the factory.
I don't know the governed speeds right now - but I can assure you that the LS will be governed to a much lower speed than 155 -- as I recall, the V6 (1998-2002 == because of the Eagle GA tires) was governed to 110.......
