production doesn't begin until Feb 16, 2009, but I'm sure your local Chevy dealer would be HAPPY to take your money now...

Like Christmas in July!!

I can't wait to hound my dealer about ordering my Black SS/RS with the manual tranny. It'll be even better sitting in my driveway. Now I get to eagerly await Indy in September. Man its going to be a difficult 2 months.

The new standard has 16/23 for autos 17/26 for manuals for LS1's in 2002.

Since the auto has AFM, I would be hoping for better mileage. G8 GT is 15/24.

G8 GT is only pushing 80-100 lbs more while making a considerable 40 hp less horsepower on a slightly smaller 6.0 with AFM. Also, to take into considerations, the G8 probably has a little bit better aerodynamics to boot. The auto SS will probably be 15/23 and the manual will probably land 15/21-22.

I am getting kinda excited I think the V6 car will be extremely impressive.....completley stomping Mustang/ Challenger V6 cars.

Looks like the Camaro will be a much better car then the Mustang as well....Chevy seems to be moving the car up market.....I just hope the price is not too high.

Just one note---paint the windshield trim body colour--and add Nassua or Bahama blue

I noticed that, I didnt realize steal wheels added that much! Hopefully it still looks decient and not as cheep as a basic mustang or charger

You can order the LT-V6 with RS package and get 20s.
Thats probably how I would go if I were buying, I'm still undecided about transmissions, but it would probably be orange

Thats cool about the V6 exhaust!, Anyone know about the availability of an Limited Slip?

I was thinking about it all night at work after I saw the "startup" video.
I kept asking myself, where have I heard that exhaust note before.

And then it hit me, it sounds like a Grand National with good mufflers.

Now that we know their will be an active fuel engine, has anyone thought of how that would react with a loud (aftermarket) exhaust?

I rember reading that a guy put a tuned up system on his Monte Carlo SS and how disapointed he was in the sound when it went to 4cyl mode that he went back to stock.

Even though I'm not planning to buy the camaro, it was exciting news, I talked about it all evening It really made my monday

You should be using Mustang, not Challenger, as a basis for your Camaro price estimates. GM has said publicly that Mustang is their price target.

This was an issue with the DOD Hemi engines in the Charger a couple years ago. The more expensive exhaust companies (Corsa, Borla) actually spent some time developing mufflers that still sounded good in 4-cylinder mode. The cheapo companies haven't made any changes, and still sound like crap.

I'm not happy with the shades of blue offered at all. Guess I'll have to get either the Orange, (which will kind of match my Hayabusa) Or the Red. I love the black, but I'm kind of tired of taking car of a black car. Was really hoping for a cool, eye popping, electric blue. Bummer.

Other than that, I love the final product, love the interior, love the 422 hp!!
