FWIW -- we did ask the Disciples about Keyless entry -- most felt that it wasn't something that was 'Camaro' --

I've asked a great number of people -- and I'd say about 30 percent would like to see it --

Z28

Just joined this group. I've lived on the dark side (Japanese cars) for the last 30 years. I watched Transformers with one of my kids and fell in love with the new Camaro. I went to the Chicago Auto Show and was really impressed with what I saw in the Chevy section. I just bought a copy of the latest Motor Trend with the Z28 on the cover. They say it's in limbo. Anyone have any idea what's going on with this. I was going to get a Nissan GT-R this spring but if I could get a Z28 I'd be a really happy camper.

You won't be getting a Z28 THIS spring . Maybe by NEXT spring?

don't hold your breath for the Z/28 but remember the SS is still a wicked car.

We don't have any real info on the Z28. Based on GM's current economical status and government bailout loans bringing out a 550hp low mpg Camaro would probably sit about as well as the private jet incident on Capitol Hill. But I guess until we hear no go we can still hope.

However the Camaro SS with the same LS3 (manual trans) found in the C6 Vette is going to be a great car. Will it beat a GTR; probably not. Will you still look cool and have fun behind the wheel with over 400hp and have enough money left over for the kids big college aspirations; Sure!

No question the Z06 is a great car. But I have to be honest here, I'm not a big fan of its looks. If you compare the looks of the GTR to the Vette and the Camaro you'll see where my tastes trend.
I live outside Chicago, so I'm not really looking for the full sports car experience. I like brute straight line performance. I think that the Z28 will have that in spades and I won't have to worry about the transmission self-destructing. And, of course, all cars can be modded.

It appears you like a car that's a bit more upright in stance.

CTS-V would be a candidate as NA doesn't seem all that important to you.

I like the CTS-V but I have to get over the Cadillac/Old man image from my youth.
As far as NA is concerned I had a Supra TT in the 90's. It was my only experience with a turbocharged motor. To increase boost I replaced the twin turbo setup with a Garrett T3/T4 hybrid. It did the job but the turbo lag was noticeable. On the other hand I could dial-in boost or turn it off completely. With the boost turned off it was a nice inline 6 with great mileage around town.

Hell, just have him sit in one for a few minutes and he will change his mind about Cadillac and the "old man" image!
