Camaro wins another award
Start building the trophy case. :D
First was the 'Best Concept Implementation' award by NAIAS Now Camaro has won the Autoweek Editors Choice Best in Show Award. ...and only the second time ever the award was won by a unanimous vote. :) http://www.autoweek.com/files/specia...o/pages/01.htm

Only twice in AutoWeek's long and illustrious tradition of awarding favorite auto show models with big, fat, shiny trophies has a car won by unanimous vote. The first? That would be the Porsche Boxster concept back in 1993, which puts this Chevrolet Camaro in pretty darn good company. We certainly aren't alone in our admiration. At one point during the press preview, it looked as though the number of top-tier designers from competing automakers outnumbered members of the media swarming about the car. That had to have the bow-tie brass smiling. And if the 400-hp Corvette LS2 6.0-liter V8 found under the concept's hood makes its way into a production rendition, we will be smiling right along with them. Of course, we have to wait a few years to see if it really happens. Fingers crossed. I wonder how many more there will be. :) |
Re: Camaro wins another award
After seeing 4th gen sales tank, and then have to witness the death and hiatus of Camaro...this sort of thing is sweet justice. Did the concept Mustang get this kind of praise? We know the Challenger didn't :D

I don't think there is anyway GM can not build this car now.

What's the difference between "best concept" and "best concept implementation"?

Re: Camaro wins another award
Best Concept Implementation = the best debut of a concept car.
Best Concept = best concept car. ...which in this case the award should be called 'Best Photocopy' haha. |
Re: Camaro wins another award
The difference is they needed to give several awards to several cars. Can't piss off the mfgr's or they wont get vehicles to test when they want them!
