Engine break-in is complete

A half hour before dawn, today, I got to 1500 miles on the odometer. Now, I'm free to explore the world beyond 4000 rpm!

As I enjoy my SS, and periodically drive the Mustang GT, too, I often reflect on the vast difference between the two cars. Sometimes, I wonder if the tossability of the Mustang makes it more fun. Now that I can't drive the Camaro for a while, I know with total certainty that it is the better car. I want it back! We were going to drive it to a bed and breakfast near Kerrville this Friday. No chance of that happening.

After hitting a deer Thursday night on the way home from Fort Hood, it needs a radiator, a hood, front bumper/fascia, and three airbags. I couldn't tell if any of the structure supporting the radiator and bumber was bent, and the adjustor hasn't gotten around to it, yet. I didn't see any evidence that the frame was bent or anything that would hard to fix right.

I am wondering, with the factory making complete cars as fast as they can, what the availability of repair parts will be.

What a shame !! I would die if I hit something with my stunning black SS...
i agree with all your comments and to the "its too heavy" weenies I say then go get a Ford boys....The car feels chiseled and strong and hippy and solid on the road which is where a few extra hundred pounds pay...fast enough for any one who wants to hit the GO pedal....I like the fact that the car is not featherlight...go drive a light car....you can feel it. My vette was light...felt it...ThaT IS precisely why I love my SS....got some meat on her bones...
Gotta put her away for the winter soon..what a drag...drive the Pontiac GP GT winter beater...
give us some news on your repair and how that goes...black should be pretty good to match...be glad you did not get orange...much tougher...

I'm glad you like your car. But I'd hardly call people who'd appreciate a lighter, more responsive car, "weenies".
