Back from Vacation -- bought a Camaro....

---sorry that I haven't been on the board -

I left Michigan on the 22nd to head toward Carlisle (for Camaros at Carlisle/GM Nationals) -- and then back to Mars/Pittsburgh for the 4th and to spend some much needed 'downtime'......

Had a Camaro built for 'Mom' Settlemire (picture below...) --

I'd tell you how old she is, but she'd ground me until I'm 84......

(...whoops....)

Her 2002 had all of 23,000 miles on the odometer -- and I offered her a CTS or an Impala SS -- and her retort was "......those are 'old lady' cars!..."

(.......mmmmmmmmmmkay.........)

.....anywhoo........had the hockey stripes done in Black Granite Metallic.....

"Thor" (my CTF Camaro) now has 12,000 miles on the odometer.....and the driving experience just gets better and better.

Yes-- I'm prejudiced, but this Camaro is one of the most satisfying automobiles I've ever driven.......the ride is quiet and smooth at 70mph -- yet, the car handles like it's on rails --

The attention these cars get is nothing short of amazing. Last night, I stopped at a Truck-stop (2am trip back from Pittsburgh to Michigan...) -- and watched as dozens of people walked up to 'Thor' and gazed......

Young children, esp. are apt to yell "Hey! Look! It's BUMBLEBEE!"

.......was great to get some time off -- and to go on several road trips in "Thor".........

Here's a pic of "Thor" and his cousin, a Firehawk -- taken in Western New York -- took a Road Trip to visit my Friends John O'Laughlin and his Son, Kyle -- (O'Laughlin Pontiac, Cadillac, Buick, GMC) in Great Valley, New York.....

They ordered a couple of Firehawks back in 2002 -- and have kept this one for Sunny Days.....

nice! i hope you recharged your batteries... :) Also, I still can NOT get used to all the attention this car gets...

My car club and I went to a Burger place that we go from time to time and sometimes we run into a BMW club that was already there....

It most have been about 15 modded BMWs...and they all came to look at the car. It's simply crazy.

I am still enjoying every single mile on my car... and could not be happier with it. :)

BTW, you probably have tons of email... but I sent you one you might like. :)

I'm glad your mother straightened you out on what kind of car she really wants. Mom Settlemire driving a CTS or Impala is blasphemy!

Both cars look great. Welcome back!
-While you were gone a certain Chevy sport coupe outsold a certain Pony car in June.....
Although I doubt you’re surprised. ;)

Your mom made the right choice! This is what mom's do, it's her way of supporting her son's efforts.

i second the attention part. for the meantime these cars get just as much or more attention than some exotic cars. the whole rockstar treatment is soo true!
