I'm really not sure if I like the convertible too much from these shots so far. It looks good no doubt, just something about certain angles...I think the car looses some of it's character without the roof. Though from the few top up shots I've seen of the soft top up it looks similar to the coupe roof line. I like this as it maintains the coupe look to a degree unlike the Mustang, Corvette and a lot of other convertibles that have very different soft top roof designs from the coupe.

The only thing that kinda bugs me about the convertible is the windshield surround.
On the concept it was covered with what looked like stainless steel.
That was such a nice touch and the car somehow doesn't look finished without it.

Heck, it would probably be better if they just painted it silver, like they did for the Solstice & Sky.

personally, I don't care for the silver around the windshield look. I think it is wanting to look more like classy older cars that used more chrome, but it just doesn't work on the newer designs that require really thick metal around the windshield for crash protection. The silver works on the Audi converts, but I don't think it did on the Crossfire or the Kappa twins.

I hated the chrome on my 69 Convertible. If the sun was behind you, you would catch the relection right off the top into your eyes. Major blindness ensued. I would much prefer painted body color. Can you imagine and Orange car, chrome windshield piller with a black top? That would look Fugly IMO

Certainly not chrome. That would be awful on a new car.
But maybe a satin brushed stainless.

Take a look at the pics of the convertible concept:

That, to me, looks SO much classier. It makes the car look visually lighter.
And note the cool stainless cowl piece (under the wipers).

Sorry guys but the new camaro is far from being one. The tail lights are gay. Dodge did a way better job. I am a die hard gm fan But the new rigs are way over priced for what you get. My buddys dad bought the dodge after owning 7-8 67-71 camaro's.

My thoughts exactly.

I mention stuff like this on the 2nd page of this thread:
https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=766681

I just don't understand why people sign up to a particular board just to s**t on the thread/topic/or community.

I don't go to boards of things I don't like just to say those things suck. How idiotic and immature.

Troll, Troll, Troll your boat, gently down the stream.

Anyways, Vert looks nice top down. I would still like to see what it looks like with the soft top on. Also this pic angle makes it look like the camaro has a big butt.
btw, the wheels on the concept are so hot.

Agreed. matchbox, it isn't even worth replying, since discussions like this have played out a thousand times around here.

As much as I think the 5th gen is a sexy beetch of a car, I have to say that the car DOES have a rather big butt.

I think it would be make more sense to go to a Challenger site to talk about how awesome the Challenger is than to go to a Camaro site to talk about how awful the Camaro is...

...because doing either (one or both) would be extremely disingenuous. The sales figures don't lie.
