my new hood finally came in yesterday.this hood is verrryyy light. only weighs 27lbs. i will be test fitting on thursday. after the hood is test fit, i will be doing some vinyl work to see what color combo will work best on the hood before i paint it. i will post up pictures of the process as i start. i will also post the pictures of the color combos to get an opinion of what people think looks the best.

That looks wicked. Weigh the stock hood when you can, I am curious about the difference. Can't wait to see what combinations you come up with.

VIS told me this hood weighs less than half the weight of the stock hood. but im going to weigh it after i take it off.
i need to find someone good at doing photoshop on a few of the designs im thinking of.

i dont know where VIS got their weights for the stock hood, but its not that heavy. i havent weighed it yet, but the stock hood is very very light. i could lift both hoods by myself and both are very similar. i was told by someone on another site that the stock hood weighed 28 or 29lbs. and i believe it. heres a few pictures of it on the car. it was late and it was taken on my blackberry. ill get better pictures one of these days.

I knew the factory hood was light...but I wasn't sure how light it was.

How much did the VIS weigh?

im going off of their numbers. ill get it weighed once i take it off to get it painted, but they told me 27lbs. so only 1lb in weight lost, but ill be moving alot of hot air out of the engine compartment, which is what i care about more than the weight loss.

jason, are you good at photoshop? i need to take a picture ofthe hood strait on and get some photoshopping done to see what i do, as far as paint.
