Light carpet vs. dark carpet

OK....I've seen some two tone seats with dark carpet and some with light carpet. What drives the difference? I want as light of an interior as possible in toasty AZ! Thanks in advance!

How clean do you want it to look? I have the 2 tone interior & unfortunately the carpets are the light portion & get dirty fast. It's an attractive interior but I wish I would have gotten the all black.

I'll use mats so dirt isn't a prob. In AZ when its 113 you want every inch of light colored interior you can get. A car in the sun out here hits 140 easy.

Still no idea what triggers light versus dark!

My last camaro had all black leather. we get up to 100 regularly too. Get window tint, it helps a lot.

Guys-

Thanks for the suggestions. My cars are always tinted, and I grew up in La, and the heat here is a different animal. Just trying to find out how to get light carpet in a 5th gen!

What part of La? I grew up in Kenner/Metairie area. My parents live in Gilbert, so I do know how hot it gets in the valley of the sun.
