Z06 Wheels 17 x 9.5 with BFG G-Force KDW2 tires 275/40/17 on a 1995 Z28
Hi guys....I read through alot of these posts on here but still have questions. I am going to look at a set of used Z06 Wheels 17 x 9.5 with BFG G-Force KDW2 tires 275/40/17. They will be replacing the 245/50/16's that I have on now. If they look good I will be putting them on my stock 1995 Z28. Will I need any spacers or will there be any other problems with these wheels & tires. Thanks for any help...you guys rock.
P.S. I'm an old guy so maybe thats why I missed any info posted here

Are they factory C5 Z06 wheels? If so, they are 54mm offset, and that works well with the 4th Gen F-Bodies. No spacers required. Tire size doe not require speedo correction.
One area to watch out for - up through late 96, the F-Body rear axles have larger hubs than the fronts. Using newer wheels on them may result in an interference fit between the rear axle hubs and the inside diameter of the newer wheels. If that occurs, you have to lightly sand or Dremel the inside diameter of the hub holes in the wheels, so the wheels fit freely over the hubs. Do not attempt to force them on by tightening the lug nuts. You may never get them back off, or you may even crack the wheel.

Thanks for your FAST response! Looks like I'll have to actually try on one of the rear tire sets when I go to look at them to see fitment. I noticed that the hubs were bigger when I bought new brake rotors for this car....I went through 3 sets before I found someone who gave me the correct rotors for the rear. The seller has these wheels on a 1999 so looks like I may have a problem. Thanks again for your help.

I'm going to see these wheels this weekend & check them to see if the rear fits. One question I have is that if the rear hubs are slightly larger on the 1995, how would you rotate the stock wheels then? The stock wheels are different sizes? I really dont want to sand, dremel, ect anything on a set of wheels. My arthritis prevents me from doing alot of things I did when younger. I think these are repro wheels. Anyway, if these puppies don't slide right on, I'm going to just stick with the stock rims & just get new tires.
Also when I said I had problems with new rotors on the back, it was the thickness of the rotor where it bolts to wheel, not the hub size.

The stock wheels have hub holes large enough to fit over the rear hubs, which makes them lug-centric on the front hubs, not hub-centric.
We are talking about removing the thickness of a sheet of paper here. I'm older than dirt and all my parts are creaky, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it.

Well I met the guy, took my rear wheel off and put his on. The hub was too big. Like you said...a sheet of paper too big. His wheels had some pitting on them, but the tires were nice. I guess I'll just stick with the stock rims and get new tires as I'm sure this problem will be with any 17" rims out there for my year of car.

I have used OZ Racing 17x9.5" wheels, and AFS 17x9.5" aftermarket wheels with no problems. Wheels like the OZ's have an interchangeable hub ring that can be selected to match the hub diameter on your stock axles.
The problem with grinding the wheels is so minor that even SLP recommended the procedure when installing the "takeoff" factory 17x9.0" wheels they sold off from their SS and WS6 conversion cars.
