what size drag lights for 1991 camaro?

hey guys i just bought a 91 rs to turn into a drag car and wanted to buy a set of welds for it but im not sure what size as far as back spacing.

im pretty sure the lug is 5x4.75? i wanted to run a 15x10 inch rim does 6.5 inch back spacing sound right?

thanks Dustyn

Since no one has responded yet, let me try and help you. I run 15x10.0 7.5" backspace on my 4th Gen. Outside edge of the tires (28x10.5-15W) is exactly even with the outside edge of the fender when looking straight down. The inner edge of the tire is very close to the fender liner, but that has already been hammered for 315 street tires. Note that the 15W designation means the tire is even wider than a 28x11.5-15.

I know the rear axle width is 3" to 4" less on the 3rd Gens (Strange shows 3" difference on the blueprint for their 3rd Gen and 4th Gen bolt-in 12-bolt rears; Skulte shows the difference as approximately 2" per side), and they run 0 (front) and 16mm (rear) offset wheels. Given that difference, it would appear the 6.5" backspace might be kind of tight against the inner fender liners, depending what tire you are running. The alternative would be a 5.5" backspace, which is the equivalent of a 0 offset.

Skulte Designs had the best data base, and they advise the max rear wheel backspace for an 89 Camaro is 5.85". See this:

Billet Wheel Adapter FAQ - Skulte Performance Designs

Yes, the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75".

Tough call - and I don't know whether a 10" wide wheel works in the 3rd Gen wheel wells. Hopefully a 3rd Gen owner can help out.
