Torque Thrust II's will they fit

I'm looking at buying two TTII wheels for the front of my 2001 Camaro Z28 and the guy say they fit my car and has a backspacing of 4 inches(wheels are 17x8) will these wheels fit on my car without them sticking out from under the fenders?THANKS

Check out my '02 on page 21 or 22 of the members garage. These are 17x9.5 with 275x40x17 Firestone Firehawk Wide ovals. I love the look.

Do you know the backspacing on your wheels?

Re: Torque Thrust II's will they fit

The stock 8" wide 4th Gen wheels have a 55mm offset, giving them a 6.63" backspace and a 2.3" frontspace. If you use an 8" wide wheel with a 4.0" backspace, the frontspace will be somewhere between 4.25 and 4.50". That will put the outer edge of the tire well outside the front fenders. Look at your stock wheels and think about what they would look like if they stuck out an additional 2" beyond where they are now.

In the back, they will be slightly outside the fenders, and will rub on the fender lip.

Why are you even thinking about an 8.0" wide wheel.... no wider than stock?

The offset is +46 and the back space is 7"on the 17x9.5"s Torq-Thrust II D 2 piece polished aluminum wheels. The Summit Racing website has the wheel in all sizes and widths and lists the back spacing.

Interesting.... but he is asking about 17x8" TTII's, with a 4" backspace.

Read the FAQ post about the 17 x 11" 50mm (7.93" backspace) wheels. Look at the problems associated with those wheels. Then consider that the TTII's have 3/16" less backspace, moving them that difference toward the outside of the fender.

The problems with the inner fender and the bump stop bracket will be reduced or eliminated. The problems with the outer edge of the tire and the fender lip will be worsened.

Read the part of the FAQ post that explains that there is a large difference in the assembly tolerances from car to car. You may have more problems or less problems than someone with a seemingly identical car/wheel setup.
