So i switched rears now my wheels dont fit correct

I noticed last night that my 5 stare wheels dont go one the axle all the way like they would on my last rear. I am guessing because it is from another year than my car. So what should/ can i do to fix this.

I was thinking of grinding down my rim a lil so it will fit

Lightly sand or grind the inside diameter of the hole in the back of the wheel, that fits over the hub. Might want to do all 4 wheels so you can rotate the wheels/tires front to back in the future. Common problem... seems like everything made before 1997 had a rear hub that was 0.03" larger than the front hubs.

There are forums for "drivtrain" and "wheel and tire" questions.

Has this been know to cause vibration while driving? I trying to find what is causing a moderate vibration at around 70 - 80 mph.

Yes it could cause a vibration, the hub helps center the wheel on the axle.

Have you had the tires checked for balance?

Yeah i balanced the tires about a month ago. I just put in a new trany and i am getting the vibration. I dont remember if it was their when i put on the new rear because that was right before the trany went out.

I can fell/hear the vibration in the center consol the most if that means anything.

Typically if its a vibration coming from a rear tire you will feel the whole car vibrating, so it could be your rear wheels. If its in the front the vibe will be worst in the steering wheel.

Did you by any chance change the tranny mount to a poly when you did the trans?

Yes i do have a poly mount but it not that new, it seemed knda weird when i put it on. It flexed and kinda turned as i tightened it down. I just checked and if i push up un the trany it will move about 1/4-1/2 inch before it has any resestaince. Would that cause a vibration? I think i need some washers or something for it

I would start by fixing that mount. It should have come with some pre-load spacers. The were some rectangular things about the size of the mount it self.
