Rims and Tires for my 97 SS

Found a pair of rims and tires for a reasonable amount of money on craigslist.
The front wheels are 18x8.5 and the rear wheels are 19x10. The front tires are 245/40ZR18 and the rear tires are 285/35ZR19. I'm curious to what bolt pattern and offset I should be looking towards and if these will fit right. I'm a bit of rookie when it comes to this, so any help would be great!

Re: Rims and Tires for my 97 SS

Front 18 x 8.5, +56 mm offset
Rear 19 x 10, +79 mm offset
And the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75

I'm sure they'll fit, but will 19s be too large in the rear?

Re: Rims and Tires for my 97 SS

The 3rd & 4th Gen F-Body (Firebird/Camaro) bolt circle is 5 x 4.75" (120.65mm). The fronts will not be a problem, but they will sit about 1/3" deeper in the wheel well than your stock SS wheels. The rears will need adapter/spacers. There's a "sticky" at the top of the Wheels and Tires topic listing that shows those wheels on a Camaro. I believe he used 1.25" spacers in the back.

The front tires match the stock tire diamter for your SS (25.7"). The rear tires (26.8") are more than 1" larger than your stock tires. The speedometer/odometer will need to be corrected by reprogramming the PCM. Or use a 25.7" tire = 285/30-19

Ok, I'll have to pick up some spacers also it appears.

How do I go about reprogramming the PCM?

Re: Rims and Tires for my 97 SS

1) Get a Hypertech Power Programmer - waste of money unless you find one used, and the current owner has returned his PCM program to stock. Will not work on your car unless owner returned his to stock.

2) Mail order tuner, such as:

PCMforless

madtuner.com - Home

3) Self program using tuning software, such as JET Dynamic Spectrum Tuner:

TunerCat

4) Get raped by a dealer.
