Cool Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

These both seem like pretty popular tires. I'm trying to decide between these two but can't find much info on the newer Firehawk Wide Ovals.

I'm kind of concerned about the first few posts on the ZRi's from Tire rack. Any opinions on treadwear and traction of these after the first few 1000' (rain traction too)? The tire forum seems way too stagnant right now for a poll :/ I figure this information would be useful for everyone in Fbody tech wanting to get new tires this summer

Thumbs up Re: Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

I just recentlu bought tires. After researching I decided on the Bridgestome RE750's. Whe they were out of stock, I ordered the Wide Ovals from The Rack. They specifications, features and benefits are almost identical to the RE750. The Rack had very little info from consumers at the time but I bought them based on info that was available. I am NOT DISAPOINTED! They are an excellent tire and they were a little less $ than the Bridgestones.
I also looked into the Fusions... There was just something about the features, hype and price that lead me to avoid them.
Recently the rack is getting feedback on the Wide Ovals and it is VERY positive.
I think for the money, The Firestone Wide Ovals are the way to go. Check out the test results at The Rack's website. I think you will be impressed with the Wide Ovals.

Re: Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

I just bought the zris about 2 weeks ago and i have to say that they are an awesome tire. they get excellent grip when it is dry and now i can actually drive in the rain! i reccomend these; they are definately worth the little money that they cost!

I can vouch for the FUZIONs,they are a very good tire,a great tire if $$ is factored in !!!!

They stick and last longer than the SZ50 did[also better in the wet than the SZs]!!!

Re: Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

UPDATE on the FUZION ZRi's!!!!

When my day was over at the drags yesterday I took off my slicks and put on my ZRi's,there was time for practice runs before the finals so I gave them a shot[3 actualy].

1.93 60 ft [1200 rpm]with a 12.961/4 with a passenger.

2.27 60ft [left too high 1600 rpm]

1.82 60ft [alone/1200rpm] 12.76 1/4 in real street trim.

with the slicks I got 1.71 60ft with a 12.52 1/4[hals set at 4].

The ZRi seem to be a lot better with the A4 than when I had tried them with my M6 last year.

Re: Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

ild have to say fuzions, i didnt get many miles on mine before i changed wheels and tires, but while i had them they were GREAT. and before the gear change hard to break loose too . good luck with whicever ya choose though!
edit: just remembered the only thing i didnt like about the fuzions. seems the company likes to roll the shoulder sooner than most, and it makes it slightly smaller than the usual 245 tire

Re: Fuzion ZRI Vs Wide Ovals!

I just got my wide ovals on last week. OMG what a difference! I had Yokohama V rated AVS ones before. These are night and day traction wise compared to them! The really stick like glue to the road. They're a bit wider than my old tires too which is nice, and come with a rim guard on them!

Very nice tires, handling wise I can't comment too much on since i changed up my whole suspension not a week before. Still waiting for it to rain, apparently these are great in the rain too!
