97 Z28 New Car, New Member!!!

Hey guys! Im usually a pontiac man through and through but chevy is chevy I guess so I just traded my 05 dodge neon (i know right? wtf?) for this 97 Z28. This has the LT4 swap with egr delete and cats taken off... Its idling high at 1100 rpm-1150rpm... Its annoying, I can tell its running rich as well, and also when I shift into neutral or press in the clutch the rpms dont go down they stay the same or increase a little. Anyone know why that is?

I am consider a wheel change, anyone good at photoshopping? I wanna see what some 2010 camaro rims would look like on it! Also, If anyone is looking for that style hood, Im willing to trade for ws6 style ram air hood with air box, I live in sc so let me know if interested. Wanted a LS1 6speed ws6 TA but got the maro, instead. So far not dissapointed, but I had a 94 TA a few years back so Im familiar with that dang LT1, so Ill give it a shot!

Yeah it has no cats, or egr. so the codes are describing that... still troubleshooting.

I don't think the lug spacing is the same on the 2010 rims.

It isn't...but so close that people try it. They did this with the 2004-2006 GTO as well. Lug spacing is 120mm for the GTO and the 2010 Camaros, 120.65 mm for 4th gen F's

Seems very dumb to me..especially considering the stresses a wheel is under in cars like these. I'd be concerned that the wheel could crack after being torqued down to 100 lb-ft.

Re: 97 Z28 New Car, New Member!!!

the stock 2010 wheels in my opinion are ugly. just my .02c

as far as lug spacing idk but i know in order to get my z06 wheels to fit on my 93z i had to take a dremel to the .... crap... drawing a blank here... main hold inside the lug holes.... wow i sound stupid but this may need to be done.

torque thrusts look good on some cars. depends on color. but dont let us choose what wheels you want. just preference. if we all had the same preference we would all have cars that look like mine

Appears you already have a similar post on LT1 Based Engine Tech regarding the engine problems, with numerous responses. Since this appears to duplicate it, and it wandering off to a post on wheels, let's move it to the "Wheels and Tires" forum.

check the plugs and wires for arcing or crossover. also check the IAC ( idle air controle ) valve. should be by the throttle body. Check on www.shbox.com for location then spray some brake cleener in it get the crap out or maybe just by a new.

A nice set of 17 or 18" wheels will dramatically change the appearance of the car.

Which corvette rims are a direct fit? Meaning i would need no spacers.
