Re: 2000-2002 factory z28 rims
What size came on the car from the factory - 235/55-16 or 245/50-16? The 245's are generally a better size and have more tires to choose from. But if your car originally had 235's the speedo/odometer will be off by 2% unless you have the new tire size programmed into the PCM.
What tire is "best" depends on your budget, whether you need all season or "summer" tires, and what performance criteria are important to you - dry traction, wet traction, cornering, straight line, braking, tread life, noise, fuel economy, etc.

they came with p245/50zr16 GSC's Goodyear only makes1 model tire in this size, the EAGLE F1 GS D3 which are $265 apiece! I was thinking of the BF Goodrich G-Force supersports at about $ 150.00 each.

Why do you feel the need to run Goodyear? The GS-C was a great tire when it was designed for the Corvette more than 20 years ago. Current GY's are vastly different. The F1 GS-D3 is an excellent tire. It's a summer tire so not good in snow. The SuperSport is an all season tire. Nowhere near the GS-D3 in most areas. But moderate snow performance.
If you can live with a summer tire look at the BFG g-Force Sport COMP-2. Similar price to the SuperSport, but getting very good early reviews.
