Gauging Interest in the next S.A. Dyno Day

Looking to put together another Dyno Day. Ben really got stuck with the last one so this one will be different. You must pay 1/2 in advance or you will not be able to run. Ben had to dish out quite a bit of money due to alot of people that said they would be there and did not show up.

This one will be at a new location here in San Antonio. I will give out info on everything once I see we have enough interest in it. The price will probably be somwhere around $35-$50. But it will be a little different. In your time slot you will be able to make as many runs as you can as your slot allows you to. You may be able to make 4-5 runs versus the 2 runs we were given before. Remember this is a new location. It will only cost $50 if you want to run the wideband and 4 or so runs.

To make this work I need to get at least 10 cars to showup. Ben will be involed but I will be taking on the larger role.

We are at 3 right now. We need to get 7 more to commit to this.

Right now here are some of the details. If we can get 10 people we will get a $100 an hour rate to hook, unhook and make as many runs as we can. So lets say we give everyone 20 minutes to do all that. You should be able to make 3 passes and hook and unhook in that time. So 3 people will split the $100 charge. Now if some wanted to go 2 people to split an hour you will be charged $50 but you will be able to make quite a few runs. It will be an additional $10 if you want to run the wideband.

There are many acres this shop is on and they have a huge BQ pit. We are welcome to grill out and have a picnic and have the wifes/girlfriends/kids along if we want. Mine Im sure will stay home! Anyways it is a brand new shop and a nice place to visit. We will get a better knowlage how things will work once we get enough folks to make this happen.

We are looking for a Saturday sometime in November to do this.

We are looking at 4 cars now. Remember we can start this as early as 9:00 AM if needed and go until 4-5:00Pm. We can also pool are money together and just rent the Dyno machine for the number of hours we want and divide the cost up among us. Thats why it is important to find a nice healthy group to do this.

Tonight is the first time I brought up the subject. We have no date set yet but it will be a Saturday in November. As soon as we see that there are at least 10 people interested then we will talk more about planning a date.

Waste of Time???

I am not sure how productive that dyno is. I went to the last one, on the motor only (no power adder) dynoed 480 twice at the wheels but then went back to the track and ran time after time over 132mph. My car with me in it weighs a tad over 3700lbs. Doesnt add up...? After that I dont have any confidence in that dyno setup they have over there.

Pink

I ran 14.27 at the track that night. Car dynoed at 251 HP and my trap speed was 98.22. Car weighs 3740 race weight. Does that add up?

Yep, It adds Up!

For the weight of 3740 and rwhp of 251 the potential numbers work out to be as follows:

1/4 ET: 14.32
1/4 MPH: 95.18
1/8 ET: 9.12
1/8 MPH: 76.88

Your track records play out as they should have with what you dynoed.
