Gateway's New Super Series Continues Friday, 6/15!

SUPER SERIES CONTINUES ON FRIDAY, JUNE 15TH AND FRIDAY, JUNE 22 AT GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY!

Gateway International Raceway's popular new Friday night Super Series, featuring two radical new categories of competition, will continue for the next two consecutive weeks on Friday, June 15, and Friday, June 22. The new drag racing series has five remaining event dates including June 15, June 22, July 6, July 27, and August 10.

The wild, wheelstanding Super Stick Eliminator will include all manually-shifted automobiles in a bracket racing format with a purse of 100% of the entry fees. Any automobile utilizing a manual transmission of any kind, (provided a clutch pedal is used to launch the car), will be permitted. The entry fee will be $20.

The always-unpredictable Supercharged Showdown will include all supercharged and/or turbocharged automobiles in a bracket racing format with a purse of 100% of the entry fees. Any automobile utilizing forced induction, including but not limited to Roots, Screw or centrifugal superchargers and any turbocharger, (of any kind), will be permitted. The entry fee will be $20.

An open Test & Tune session for all vehicles is also available during Super Series events for a fee of $20. The extremely popular GIR Junior Dragster program will conduct its series point races during the Friday events, as well.

Gates open at 4:30 PM with timed trials beginning at 6:00 PM. Spectator admission is still only $10 with children under 12 admitted free.

Below are the rules and regulations, (above and beyond standard NHRA Safety Requirements), for each of the new divisions as listed in the 2007 Gateway International Raceway Rulebook soon to be released.

Event: Friday Night Super Series

Spectator Admission: $10.00
Participant Admission: $20.00

Gates Open: 4:30 PM
Timed Trials Begin: 6:00 PM
Junior Dragster Eliminations Begin: 8:00 PM (or following the completion of timed trials)
Eliminations Begin: 8:30 PM
Open Drag Racing Concludes: 11:00 PM

The Super Series is contested on selected Fridays and offers competition in Super Stick Eliminator, (for manually-shifted automobiles), Supercharged Showdown Eliminator, (for forced-induction automobiles), several eliminator categories for Junior Dragsters and open drag racing and testing for all types of vehicles. Gateway International Raceway reserves the right to restrict the number of testing participant entries. All participating vehicles are subject to safety and compliance inspection by Gateway International Raceway Tech Officials in accordance with the rules and regulations outlined in Section C: Safety Regulations and Requirements and Section C5: Junior Dragster Requirements.

All Eliminator categories are conducted using a bracket racing format in which, after timed trials are complete, each competitor determines a performance prediction (“dial-in”) prior to each round of eliminations to be used as an elapsed time handicap factor. Eliminations will be conducted using a standard bracket racing elimination format in which the winner of each elimination match is determined by the first competitor to cross the finish line while recording an elapsed time equal to or slower than the competitor’s performance prediction (“dial-in”). If both competitors record an elapsed time quicker than their performance predictions during an elimination match, the competitor recording an elapsed time closest to the competitor’s performance prediction, barring any foul starts or boundary infractions and regardless of finish line position, is proclaimed the winner of the elimination match.
