v6 camaro vs v6 mustang 2000

My roomate is thinking about getting a 2000 v6 mustang. Just out of curosity who would win out of this race mustang vs camaro.
what is the horsepower is both and quarter mile times. Also have any of you done dual exhaust on your v6. Does it take away a lot of torque, and what exhaust did you chose.

If both cars are stock, a 3.8L camaro will take the mustang. Im not too sure about the # for a 2000 mustang. I believe the mustang has 190hp. A 2000 camaro v6 has 200hp and 225lbs tq.

If you're in a 3.8L, no problem, and if you're in a 3.4L, you CAN outrun him...I actually raced one from a light (one of the last times I acted like a heathen out on the streets...), and let him get a jump on me (in a '94 A4 Stock with about 120K miles...) and I pulled back up to him, and got him by about 1/2 car before the next light...he was in a five-speed...Maybe I was just lucky, but it happened...

I have a friend with a 2000 V6 stang, we've went at it a few times both rolling and from a stand still, lets just say he knows real well what the a**end of my car looks like.

This is the exact opposite from what i've heard. If the stang is a 5-speed, and the driver is good, then it will be dead even and the stang might even win. If the stang is an auto, then its another story and the camaro will probably win.

If its a new stang than 94 grey v6 is right. But if its a pre 98 you could beat it on foot running. An automatic stang vs a 5 speed 3.4 is a joke. A few sweet shifts at 5000 rpms and the stang is a memory in your rear view mirror.

The one I was talking about is an auto. we're usually even till I hit second at about 4000 rpm, then when I hit 3rd its all over.

A 99+ Mustang V6 5 speed, my money stock for stock vs A4 or 5 speed V6 f-bod is on the Mustang. The A4 V6 Mustangs are normally a 1/2 second slower in the 1/4 than the M5's.

Personally the fastes auto I ahve seen with some basic mods was a 16.5,guy lsot to a girl in a stock 00 firebird auto.

5-speeds are much quicker, 5-speed to 5-pseed I think they are very even.

Scary thought is in a night at the track, 6 variousv6 Mustangs and v6 f-bodies, and I was the fastest one there.

I believe you will be able to tak his Mustang without any problem what so ever. As for your exhaust get a Borla cat-back system and order it from Summit Racing. Summit is the cheapest that i found for the Borla system. The system is completely T-305 aircraft quality stainless stell so it will not rust or corrode. It comes with chrome dual-dual tips. Its a 3in. adjustable system so u can adjuste the sound and performance leves. Running the system wide open with no plates is the best and gains are around 20 - 25 according to my last dyno.

2001 Firebird
K&N filter, Borla 3in cat-back, Raptor ram air hood, Whisper air lid, BMR STB, Firebat decals from firebatscave.com

20-25 at the rear wheels from an simple exhaust upgrade. Do you have the scans of these gains?

Re: v6 camaro vs v6 mustang 2000

I own a 1999 chevy camaro v6 with 210k miles. my 2nd to 3rd is slipping so i lose about a couple of tenths of a second at the end. I still manage to run a 15.6 in a quater tho with me and a friend in my car. So I guess u could find the track times of a mustang and figure it from there.
i own a automatic by the way
