Think I have a power steering fluid leak

Think I have a power steering fluid leak
We have one garage and my mom and me share it so after my car was there for 2 days I noticed a few drops maybe the size of a quarter under it.
I checked everything, it was red and wasnt trans fluid because it's too far forward and to the left.
I toped the power steering off, and went 2 weeks then added just a little to top it off again. Where is this leaking from? is this common? and I imagine expensive?
I've heard doing burnouts around turns can short live your power steering system and I dont do that

Far front left? Sounds like the area where the pump is. Along with the fittings where it attaches to the steering rack. I'd check all the hose connections on the the pump and rack. I know the hoses one mine always have a coat of fluid on them, but they don't "leak" to the point of leave drips.

Mine are coated with fluid also but no drips or any loss in fluid. It might be dew formed on the lines. I don't know. Anyways on subject check all the lines if tight or cracked.

All fluids eventully do leak a tiny bit..Its a bunch of factors...Things like extreme weather changes like here in NY.I see oil spots once in a while and PS fluid lines are a bit slipperay once in a great while.Nothing to worry about untill you see Exxon stations under your car.

Re: Think I have a power steering fluid leak
I made an appointment for it for this week, have my mechanic chack it out, it's hit the big 45,000 miles now so I'll have him look at everything else too while it's there.
It doesnt seem like a real big probilem, I went under but couldnt locate anything, yes mine's always been greesey on that front cross member, partially by the placement of the oil filter I guess.
Thanks guys, I'll let ya know what turns out

A few drips shouldn't be anything to worry about, but having the mechanic check it out is never a bad idea.
I noticed you're from Jersey....you should check out my site for NJ F-Body Owners (in the sig).

Re: Think I have a power steering fluid leak
Yea my 3.4 has 124K on it and the power steering is leaking (along with everything else, f***in environmental disaster on wheels) from the shaft seal. New one is like $8 at an any auto parts store. Check the seal, mine got so bad it would drip onto the serpentine belt and make it squeal like a mother.

I had it checked out, my mechanic couldnt find anything, he said the same thing I was thinking, car is 7yo, and might leak a little here and there as seals get old.
