Smile swapping 3800 v6 with sb 305

hey everyone im new here. i have a 95 camaro with the v6 3800 the motor blew head gaskets and it was all down hill from there i love the car and the body and interior are mint i have an 83 c10 with the 305 tbi that purrrssss like a kittin but the trans is gone i want to swap the 305 into the camaro what will it take? i have never done a swap before so im clueless but i just want to get the car back on the road as soon as possible the 3800 is already out and torn down and the blocks toast so please any help and info is greatly appreciated and again im clueless on what im going to need to get this done but its my only option so please help meeee haha

If you are going to do a swap, why not get something that is going to be a bit more lively? You're actually probably going to be losing horsepower on the swap.

I've never read of anyone putting a 305 in a 96 camaro before, I doubt it would work with the camaro tranny anyway.

A lot of people just get another used 3800 which are really really cheap. even if it is out of a FWD car you can use the parts off your old motor to make it fit your RWD camaro.

That or you could look for an LT1 & tranny

you could make a 305 work, but it will take a lot of work. and yes you will need a new transmission. If you have never done an engine swap before i wouldn't recommend this being your first try. best bet is to find a used 3800 like evolution said.
