I have a 2000 3.8L camaro and my security light has been coming on while i drive for a few weeks then the other day i went to start the car and it turned over and killed. well i got on the internet to see what was going on cuz my injectors and fuel pump arent even a year old as i put almost all new stuff in when i replaced the engine. And as it sounded like a fuel issue, which it really shouldnt be as it was like working fine one second and then bam wouldn't start, i figured it was an electrical problem. my ses light was also on but the code is for my exhaust system and its been on since i got the car. i was told by a mechanic that the code wasnt an issue so i decided it was my security system. well any ways i did the resistor trick and like magic the security light went out but it still wasnt starting. i thought it might be that i was almost out of juice, cuz i had to pull it home at night so with flashers and lights i drained the battery pretty good, so i tried jumping it that didnt work then i thought maybe somethings wrong with the ignition so i jumped it again and sprayed in some starter spray stuff and it turned right over and killed again. Did i permanently mess up something in the computer or do i need to disconnect the battery to like reset something...i really have no clue. also i went out today to check it and no the abs and brake lights are on but im guessing thats cuz of the dead battery since it was never on before

It's really hard to comprehend your writing. But that code is for catalyst inefficiency, so it sounds like your cat is out.

Did you find out what was wrong with the car?

Replace the cat, make sure egr is working properly, then reset by disconnecting the battery for at least a couple minutes.
Never try to by-pass anything other than the iat possibly.

or try in to put the key in the ignition and turn it to key on but dont try to start the engine and leave it on key on for 20 minutes then try to start it
