Electrical problems

Went to the store last night & when i got back in the camaro, it didn't want to start. When it did start, the lights flickered & the motor sputtered. I got moving & it still was running rough & a couple of the dash lights were on. I flipped the bright lights on & the everything went black for about 2 seconds & then popped back on. Everything seemed fine the rest of the way home (15 miles)...until I put it to the floor. Fisrt three seconds, it pulled fine & then everything shut off for about 5 seconds (in the middle of the night) before it popped back on. I made it home, unplugged the headlights (I have plug & play HID's & thought the ballasts were causing a short) & it still did the same thing. It will start, sputter, & then as soon as I turn on the brights it dies. Any suggestions/thoughts? I am baffled.

For anyone that stumbles across this thread, it was the plug wires. She's running great now!
