Damn starter removal...

Ok, I think I need to replace the starter, not one of the more friendly jobs. I have it unbolted and wires off and of course it just doesnt quite fit through the space b/t the cross over pipe and bell housing / tranny lines. So I read jacking the engine may just work.

Question, to jack the engine enough to get starter out I assume means removing the passenger side engine mount bolt or can you just loosen it and get it to move enough?

I hope you have figured it out by now, but Dropping the flywheel inspection shield has been the easiest way Ive found to do it, then pop the tranny lines out of the holder up by the oil pan mounting flange. You should be able to squeeze it out while carefully pulling the tranny lines to the passenger side. I've done several this way.
