2000 camaro ck engine light on car won't accelerate
I have a 2000 camaro 3.8 v6 sometimes when I accelerate the ck engine light will flash on and off and will not accelerate, then the light goes off and it's fine when I ck'd code it says misfire on bank 1 or 2 never the same bank twice does anyone have any idea, before the the EGR valve was bad so replaced it, and did tune up, I cannot find a problem any ideas

if the check engine light is flashing that means it is a catalyst damaging misfire and u should quit. thats very bad. i would think fuel pressure,or a bad coil but u need to fix it before it is a $700 converter job. Pay a GOOD shop to diag the running problem then fix it yourself if u can but quit doing that if u can. as my mom always said"you"ll be sorry"

I didn't know what you were talking about so I searched it and I learned something

Need an update? What was wrong? What makes you think it was already resolved? Anyways, aside from replacing the plugs and wires, your primary focus should be on the coil packs or converter. It is unlikely that it is your wires but that is always the best and cheapest place to start (so people seem to think although I think they just like to point out the easiest option that is usually of no help). Since it is a random misfire it is most likely a coil pack. If the coils are good move along to the front bank O2 sensors and check the readings. They are most likely bad and have assisted in destroying your converter. An easy way to get an idea if it is the converter; remove your O2 sensors and start the car. You should hear some minor clicking since you have a whole in your engine (missing sensor). However, if you gain your HP back it is most likely (I'd bet a lot of someone elses money) your converter. You can also disconnect the exhaust from the manifold if you are uneasy about having the O2 sensors removed (although it is harmless).

i was just wondering if it was fixed or if he did any testing. I am not a fan of throwing parts at cars and hope it works. If we get and update(fixed or not) i am sure we can get it fixed. Just trying to help. Misfire on bank one or 2 doesn't sound right. code p03xx would be better info. If we could get everyone to post fixes or diag info it will help the next guy by giving a good search bank to go off of.
