What are L99's running in the real world at the track?

I know Motor Trend got a 13 flat 1/4 mile out of one but I have heard and read about a lot of stock L99's running just under 14 in the real world. Anybody seen any auto's at the track running under 13 stock? Not tuned but stock? is Chevy doing the usual over protecting the tranny with torque management?

Re: What are L99's running in the real world at the track?

Most bone stock L99s will run low to mid 13s (decent drivers). The fastest bone stock L99 I know of ran 12.8 @ 108 mph in pretty cold air in the North East. So this is faster than the norm. It takes cold air, low elevation track, and good driving to get a stock L99 in the high 12s.

I have an L99 but I never ran it stock. But with just a tune, it ran 12.9 @ 108 mph. With intake, full exhaust, tune, and drag radials it ran 12.40 @ 111.96 mph.

I'm going to the track tomorrow, and I'm hoping to run 12.2s - 12.3s with my same setup (intake, exhaust, tune, drag radials). I'm pretty sure I can do it because the DA (density altitude) is going to be a lot better than the last time I ran my car.

But to answer your question, stock L99s are low to mid 13 sec cars (on average) with decent drivers.

Anyone running slower than mid 13s (with decent track conditions) needs some practice launching the car.

Went back to the track today. I ran 12.26 @ 113.25 mph.

My mods are intake, full exhaust, tune, drag radials. Here's my slip. 2010 Camaro SS (L99 A6).

Re: What are L99's running in the real world at the track?

I thought I'd update my time. I ran a little faster due a a better DA. I'm down to 12.16 @ 114 .97 mph. I wish I could run a 11.9 (bolt ons only) with the stock gears and stock converter, but I don't think I can do it. I'd have to run some slicks with skinnies up front to probably pull it off.

There was a 576 hp 2010 ss m6 that couldn't run any better than a 12.6. Car wouldn't hook for starters but it also weighs 2 ton .
