stock m6 1/8 mile times

I've had my car about two months now, and have been to the track 5 times and have made a little over 40 passes in it. Im on street tires, completely stock with the exception of a flow master muffler. I made my best pass tonight but it was a weird one. I was against a eclipse, dialed in at 11.56, I was dialed at 9.37. The eclipse took off, I finally get to go, caught the car a little past half track, still in second gear, let off and didn't shift. I ran a 9.26@68 mph. I usually trap 76 77 mph. I killed almost 10 mph and ran a little over a 0.1 faster than my fastest pass in the car.

So, what I'm wondering is, what are yalls best time stock??

60 ft: 2.15
330: 5.98
594: 8.60
1/8 mile: 9.26

Nobody? Hmm, am I the only one playing stock?? I know stock is slow, but I would rather learn my car and be able to drive it right, than have all the power in the world and just blow the tires off of it.

Well, the better your ET the slower your MPH but it shouldn't have cost you 10 mph. Unless it happens again I'd chalk it up to an error on the timing side.

We'd have to know exactly which car you have to compare. You'll find people claiming times all over the place. Your 60ft looks reasonable for regular radials and two visits to the track. The ET in the 1/8th is all decided at the launch so that will be your ticket to faster slips.

And that Eclipse?! Any car that runs 11.50s in the 1/8th mile is just creeping slow. I drove a 4 cylinder Nissan truck to a 10.90 almost 20 years ago. Even my old Grand Marquis dipped into the 9.9 range with just a few mods.

Re: stock m6 1/8 mile times

The eclipse had a big ole girl driving, so the extra pounds may cost her. But as far as my car, its a 95, 182xxx miles, lol that's a lot!!, and its an m6. I run 275/45/17 street tires, and shift off my ear. I ordered a shift light so that I can be a little more consistent. My 60 ft ranges from 2.14-2.19, so that's fairly consistent. But on the pass I was talking aout, nothing cost me my mph but my foot, I let completely out of it because it was bracket racing. I've been to the track 6 times and have made a little over 40 passes. Going to Bowling Green Kentucky tonight and play on the 1/4. I'm hoping I can drive it to a high 13, but I'm realistic and if I can get a 14.1-2 I may be happy. Lol. I'll update with 1/4 times tonight or tomorrow. I'll also throw this out there, I drive the car to track, no trailer, or truck!! Hope it stays in one piece!

Given the mileage, I'd say your time is reasonable, but the MPH is off.

When I first ran my Z28 down the 1/8th I had only a catback system. I managed a best of 8.99@80.17mph.

Got a K&N CAI and got the car down to an 8.682@82.95mph....but only managed it one time. It averaged in the 8.7-8.9@80-82mph region with that setup(catback and K&N CAI).

Re: stock m6 1/8 mile times

I would say the mph is about right if you trapped 80 on a 8.99, I'm trapping 77 in 30's. I have no clue what it would run all out in good air because I haven t had the chance too. Was at Beech Bend in Bo
wling Green and it was hot, and did a best of 14.33 @ 97mph. I know it could do better because my 1/8 mile times were in the 9.40 range, but my 60' was what I'm averaging, but I was spinning hard in second gear and had to actually steer the car. I did get a good kill too, raced a new Z06, and caught him sleeping on the tree, and he didn't catch me through the 1/8, but after that he killed me!! Lol But I had fun, and that's what its all about!!! I've got to pull my transmission this week sometime and do a rear main seal in it, its leaking pretty bad.
