My friend owns a performance shop here in MD. A common friend of ours was in the hospital and we saw each other their. We leave at the same time and went for a few runs. He has an 08 GT with a wipple blower kit on it, exhaust and full rear suspension and it is a manual (he can shift/drive)

First run from about a 40mph roll, Hit got the jump and my car didnt downshift so he walked me pretty bad, pulling about 2 cars in about 10 seconds. Next run from about 30 MPH roll. I got the jump on him and pulled about a car on him, he reeled me in pretty quick and had me by about one and a half cars when we shut down at around 100. on the third run we went from about 10-15 mph. He spun first bad and i hooked. I jumped a good one and half cars on him, he couldnt make it up and had to shut down around 100mph with me a little less then a half car on him (no idea what MPH i was at, i think around 115)
It was a good race and i got to talk **** to him for loseing the third run. With a nice shot of N20 and going from a stop i think i could take him

I cannot wait for the new Z28 to have a blower. That way whoever wins cannot use the damn forced induction complaint. It will likely jump to CI, then rear-end, tires, tranny.........

Well, I'd say 15 year newer technology plus FI gives him a GENEROUS advantage.

I'd say it's a pretty valid point, but at the same time it's run what you brung. So clearly the what if game is childish.

Yeah the blower let him beat me, we raced befroe he did it and it was nothing but a waste of gas for me. But i agree its you run what you brung, and their is no way im spending 4k on a blower set up....but i might borrow a 150 shot of juice and surprise him one day

If he had the same mods as you before the blower he would beat you as well...just that w/ a stang a cam and heads isnt as efficient or economical as going right to the blower. Ive seen more then a few bolt on/gear'd 3v stangs running in the low 12's. Dont see many bolt on LT1's doing that.
