Pretty frustrated
Well, bracket raced for the first time today. Ran street trophy. Ran 8.8 ish all day, with my best run being an 8.76. I left the Dial-in at 8.74 just in case, and made it all the way to the final round. Since I wasn't able to duplicate that first run all day, I figured it was safe to put my dial in up to 8.77, and wouldn't ya know, I broke out with an 8.75... lost to a lady in a stock grand prix. Here was the final timeslip:
index 8.77
rt .68 (could have done better)
60ft 2.05
330 ft 5.75
ET @ 594 ft 8.20
ET 8.75
MPH 81.81
Side note 1: All mustangs were decimated.
Side note 2: From what I have read, these things should be better. But, my car has 150k on it. It's got the 3.23 rear end. Thoughts?

Re: Pretty frustrated
Bracket racing is all about consistency and good lights. How fast or slow your car is, is totally irrelevent. If you had cut a good light you would have had a chance to maybe break a little at the end of the run. But with that light you had no chance.
Just for fun post up her numbers.

I can do one better....
Keep in mind, this woman is the current points leader for the season in her bone stock Grand Prix, so she kinda had me psyced out. But then again, I may have done the same to her, being that I was the only one who made it to the last rounds without buying back in.

Here is a vid of my first time trial from in the car. Got a .51 light. The music (and subsequent static) is the track info/pa station. And no, I didn't get in the water.

Re: Pretty frustrated
Both of you were closer to your dial-in than I'd ever hope to be. My old Grand Marquis was pretty consistent but I don't think I could ever get it down to a couple hundredths of a second even with nice tires (Bridgestone RE750s) and the stock LSD.
At least I know that running 9.9 @ 73 it would have destroyed a Grand Prix

You need to spend some time at test and tune nights working on your lights. One of the very most important things is to do everything exactly the same every pass.
Stop when you turn on the first light then bump in a couple of inches at a time 'till you just turn on the second bulb. 2 or 3 inches difference can change your rt by a lot.
Leave at exactly the same rpm everytime for the same reason.
Lastly don't watch the bulbs come down. Stare at the 3rd bulb and leave when it lights. If you watch the bulbs come down you can anticipate the third and that can cause red lights.
Work for a .530 to a .510. Trying to get it closer than that just won't work well for a foot brake car.
The last line of my sig below says it all.
