The new Vig is in... and she's AMAZING...

Put the new 3400 Vig in yesterday and she is a totally different car...

She RIPS through the gears now and spins up RIGHTNOW!

She feels fast... but she's always felt fast... she felt fast when she was running mid 9s... so tonight will tell the tale.

Here's hopin' for major ET improvement in fair air. Looks like tonight is going to see mid 70s with fair humidity, not great but it beats the hell out of August.

I'll keep ya posted... Shootin' for 7.7s...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW RECORD!

7.83-1.69 60' @ 86.59 mph... and this was in fair air... at least 20 degrees warmer than our previous best of 7.88. I'd say that with all things being equal, the Vig kicked us down the track upwards of 2/10s faster than the old 12" reman...

Kids... it's not even the same car... Made 12 passes with 7.95 being the worst run... The Vig EXPLODES out of the hole... it's violent... I can't even believe it.

Ended up running an unbadged Pick-up truck which was turning low 7.8s... I took 1 of 4 runs... He edged me out up top... Had it been a 330' race I'd have had 4 for 4... the widest margin was .06... I won every race through 330' and he took all but one. Crazy huh?

Great night on the whole... crushed a couple of GTs and one which was badged Cobra, but either he slapped on a "Badge Mod" or he came to the track to run mid to high 8s... which was moderately faster than the GTs...

OH! Got CRUSHEd by a '79-ish) Z28... I don't know how much juice he's pouring in it... but it was enough to earn him a 6.99 against the 7.86 we put up. I owned the hole, beating him out by .15, so I held him to .6 margin... That old gal MOVES!

Excellent times man!
The vig makes it feel like you threw away your old car and got a new one huh?

Those bad boys make all of the difference in the world.

Oh, I wouldn't doubt it... He leaves the whole on what looks like all but ONE WHEEL!

But there's what looks to me to be a 93ish Z runnin' an LT-1 up there, sipping a 150 shot, who laid down 7.1xs two weeks ago... He runs mid 8s on the motor...

Man it is a GAS... She's rips through the gears, revs come on smoothe and FAST... Other than that, there's really no difference except a slight 'looseness' just off of idle... almost feels like a barely loose clutch... but very slight and it takes no time getting used to it.

I'll back it up..i installed a 2800 in mine
dropped my 60's from mid 1.9's to 1.73. Everything else he said is the same its flat out nasty out of the hole. One question. Any problems with gear changes on the track? or did you get a tune? At the track mine would bounce off the rev limiter on 1st to second. Street it never does it. Mines a 9 1/2 also

Oh HELL YES!

Can't even THINK about runnin' a stall without a tranny cooler.

I don't recall the manufacturer... but as a general rule the bigger the better.

I'm just bought a finned oversize tranny pan, hopefully we'll get it installed this week end... it adds 2 quarts of fluid in volume and the fins heat-sinks the pan providing great surface area for air to pass over to promote cooling.

You're going to LOVE the Vig man... best money you've ever spent on that car.

I had severe limiter bounce after the 4.10s... I sent the PCM to the tuner and the problem was better but it remained an issue...

My street set up is different from the track... My street rears are 20" falkens which are 27" tall; which I change to Mickey's on stock 16" salad shooters on the track... which are 26x11.5 and considering the lower air pressure used in the mickeys it's even smaller.

I will say that since I installed the Vig, it's gotten A LOT better... I've since bought the Jet Tune program; I just haven't had the time to really get to know it and haven't worked up the stones to plug it in. But that should let me set the shift a few revs lower at WOT.

Anyone have any experience with the Jet OBD2 program?
