Neon SRT-4 vs 96 Z LT1
My LT-1:
Advanced Induction 200cc Heads
AI Billet Cam 6XX Lift, 108 lsa
1.6 comp Cams Roller rockers
Fluidamper harmonic balancer
42# Injectors, 58MM throttle body, Hooker Ceramic coated long-tubes
Canton oil pan, oil pump and valve covers. PCM For Less tuning.
Fully Forged 383 - Balanced, blueprinted by CPE, entire engine assembled by CPE. 6 speed manual with spec stage 3 clutch and billet aluminum flywheel.
Stock rear with 3.42. Exterior Looks 100% stock down to the salad shooter
Had a SRT-4 Neon start picking on me, cruising 55 and he pulls up alongside showing sign language of 4 - 0 , I thought for a minute and realized he wanted to go from a 40mph roll. Dropped to second, could have went first but figured we would see what he had. At 40 he was looking at me so I gave him the waive (go ahead, I will catch up ). As soon as he jumped on it, I stomped it. At that point his passenger mirror was even with my front tire and I reeled him in instantly. When he grabbed the next gear (`65mph) his front end was at my door handle and I was still in second. I pulled away quickly after that. By the time I needed to shift to third gear I had a full two car lengths on him. It was a quick race over in a few seconds. I haven't been to the track yet (going this spring) but figure I am in the 11's easily. Since he came picking on me I figured he was a 13 second car looking for an easy win. The guy was cool about it, gave me the thumbs up.

Nice mods!
Now for some traction and better gearing.
Say by by to the 10 bolt.
Got to love it when your riding along minding your own business, then some unsuspecting _______ (fill in the blank) comes along wanting an easy kill...and you show em tail lights!!
Sweet!! Nice kill

Re: Neon SRT-4 vs 96 Z LT1
Well, finally made it to the track. (Don't laugh) Ran on street tires, 100% stock suspension:
60' 2.375
1/8 8.577
MPH 90.62
1000 10.877
1/4 12.803
MPH 116.89
Took off at 2K rpms, had to lift (blew the tires off) got back in, tires were howling the rest of the way thru first, grabbed second and continued to howl over the exhaust. Big mph, pretty happy with the MPH, time for suspension upgrades.

Get some good tires first.

I'm sure that car would pick off a lot of unsuspecting opponents. Once you get some traction it's really moving.
I wonder if there's a record for fastest on salad shooters?

Btw our times are almost identical from my run last Sunday but I should've been hooking with my mt et streets but couldn't drive around the waterbox and that screwed up my launch.
