1 night 2 Cobras

Saturday night was one of the best (a probly last) good weather night we have had in a long time.
I washed the car and took her out with a friend.
5 minutes down the raod and we see/hear a a 04 Cobra. I pull up next to him in traffic and asked him what he was running, He said 17 lbs of boost.
I say cool lets see what it can do...
We keep driving untill we get to straight away with no traffic in front of us.
He was about 2 cars behind us and my friend waves him to go. He hits it hard and by the time i know he is going for it he is right next to me. I hit it and he is about a car in front. I start pulling him in slowly. We start passing him and my friend lean out the window and starts waving good bye.... As soon as he sees he isnt going to win he shuts it down and turns.

Later that day see another one, stock. I pull up next to him at a light. I say, hey man is that car fast..He looks over at me and hear my LT's and loudmouth purring. He goes, eh, not to much fast (He was mexican). Light turns green and he hits it. I hook really good on the M/T's and blow past him. he keeps trying until i got about 2 cars on him then shuts it down.

Good kills man! I'd also have to say that the first guy wasn't really running 17psi. I'm sure you knew that though.

I agree,
Good kills nonetheless, but 17psi would put him in the 650 rwhp range and mid 10s in the 1/4.

Good kills brother! Just curious how do you know it was an 04 and not an 03 Cobra? Are you heavily into stangs/cobras?

Regardless...good kills

What is the difference? The 03 and 04 are the exact same car only that the 03 had some minor head deficiencies that can easily be fixed.

A lot of people have huge issues with planting any sort of power and achieving good times with the IRS.

Very nice kills...it is far to often the car that can plant its power not the dyno queen wonder.

This rich ***** i knew had his parents buy him a gt500 and he threw prototype KB on it. He dynoed at just over 800hp. He took it to the track and kept running low 12's all day.

Not quite that fast or that much power but still strong nonetheless. A maxed out non-ported Eaton (14-15 psi) with the accompanying bolt-ons will dyno roughly 475-480 to the wheels. It's real hard to get a stock Eaton to run that high of boost. You can pulley it to run 17 psi or greater but rarely will it actually see it. Now a ported Eaton running 14-15 psi will dyno north of 500 to the wheels but you still run out of breath at boost levels much higher than that. To get 650 rwhp and mid 10's you're gonna need a KB or a Whipple and at least 19 psi with a "kill" tune. Otherwise 19 psi with a more street friendly tune is somewhere in 600 even range.

You're assuming he has all of the supporting mods, including an appropriate tune. What if it's running rich as hell?

There is always the possibility that he could be running 17 lbs without the correct tune, supporting mods,etc...

As for the charger itself, the thread starter didnt specify what blower setup he was running. Could have been a Vortech centri for all we know, even as unlikely as that would be.

My close friend, Steve Shrader of S. Perofrmance has a 2V 99 GT putting down 16 psi with a vortech and ...like JR mentoned...supporting mods to be at 640 rwhp.

Now if it is a factory eaton then I cant see it either, but that was not specified.
