Who SFC Weld-On San Jose

Does anyone know a place I can get my SFC's welded on for a decent price, and by someone that knows what they are doing?

I got a quote for over $500 if they pull the carpet and $400 if I pull the carpet.
Seems kind of high for welding on SFC's?!?

Re: Who SFC Weld-On San Jose

I've been a member here since the late 90's(off and On again) and I've never heard of the carpets being removed to install sub frame connectors.I would go to a place that installs exhaust parts because they have welding equipment. One member years ago had the sfc's welded and bolted but that may be overkill.I could be wrong,as I've been wrong 3 times this year and the year is still young.Hope this helps.(Midas)?Hope this helps.

They just pull the carpet up at the edges to prevent the heat from burning/melting the backing. You also have to protect the fuel lines on the driver side.

No exhaust place will touch it around here, unless a SJ local knows one. I can pull the carpet myself but they still want a pretty penny. Ill call midas.

Anyone near San Jose that someone knows?

So, what happened?

I'd suggest an independent exhaust shop, not a national chain like Midas. Better yet, find a general-purpose machine/fabrication shop.

So, what happened?
I got a hold of a local guy in Santa Clara that said if I prep the SBC's and the weld points, he can do it for around 300. No need to pull the carpet but If I did for the day then it might be good.

My passenger seat is already out, rear seats out, headliner out, carpet needs to be replaced but I can't do both at the same time so Ill most likely peel it back.
