LT1 Car Drum/Disc Housings the Same?

LT1 Car Drum/Disc Housings the Same?
Ok so I know that LT1 and LS1 4th gen rear ends use different length axles, from reading about those brake swaps.
What I need to know is, are there any differences in the housings themselves? Can you bolt LT1 disc brakes onto a regular 4th gen drum brake housing? Do the disc brake brackets mount to the same flange as the drum brake backing plate does?
What I'm actually trying to figure out is if I can hack up a drum brake rear end to use the axle tubes for an 8.8 rear end build. I can find cheap/plentiful drum brake rears but the disc brake rears still bring decent money.

Just going by the parts manual I think the housings are the same on drum and disc brake cars. The part number for 93-97 housings, without traction control, is the same for disc and drum brakes. The number for traction control housings is different, but I think the only difference is that there isn't a hole for the ABS sensor. I don't think traction control was available on V6 cars anyway.

Awesome, that's exactly what I needed, thank you!
I have a '97 SS and I don't want the car to have any down time while I'm building the 8.8 so I'll buy one of those cheap drum brake rears to use for building the jig for the TA mount, then cut the tubes off it to slip into the 8.8. Theoretically. Then once it's all built I can bolt my LT1 brakes on it and have minimal downtime.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a decent tech article once I'm finished. I've been sifting through various posts on various boards and they all have great info, but I have yet to find just one build thread that has everything in one place.
