so i just got back from outta town and it been raining since last night so im heading down hwy 27 in highlands county and not even doing the speed limit,
and people start puttin on the brakes hard and i put on mine kinda hard cause im coming up fast to a stopped truck.

and my abs works i wanna know does anyones eles camaro do that while it wet under med braking force , whats the best tire for that type of situation?

i have new front and rear brake pads, i would like to upgrade to c-5 or c-6 brakes and rotors if that is possible for front and rear ?

this crap scares me , i have had my car to 149 mph and was still pulling and that didnt scare me but sliding in the rain scares the crap outta me , mainly since i had my nephew with me today , my concern is for my saftey and my wife and my family and my own ,

plus i dont wanna wreck the camaro while doing under the speed limit in the rain,


what yr c-6 brakes will work on my car and what brackets will i need,

and what tires have a good all around performance wet and dry in a 225/50r16 front and 245/50r16 in the back?

If your running the ET streets in your sig you probably shouldn't drive in the rain.

If it was sliding, your ABS wasn't working correctly, or you have the wrong tires. A tire with good wet traction is suited to wet driving - e.g. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.

Running undersize tires in the front doesn't help you much either.

the et streets are only for the track , i dont run them all the time ,

so the a hole that put the 225/50r16 on my car before i got are too small?


does anyone run the mich pilot sports?

Your car left the factory with either 235/55-16's or 245/50-16's. A 225/50-16 is one inch smaller diameter than stock, and obviously has less section width.

i did find that info on the tire size after the fact but , i would like to find some decent tires in the 245/50r16 size . without breaking the bank for 4 of them , cause right now this thing just obliterates these tires

If your car slides easily in the rain, it's probably the tires. ABS could probably increase stopping distance like it can on gravel/dirt.

yeah i dont like it when it slides in the rain when theres something stopped in front of you and u can feel the abs locking and unlocking the tires,

The ABS is operating because the wheel would be otherwise locking- not really conducive to steering or shortest braking distances- sounds like your tires are lacking in wet traction-

Don't worry yet about getting bigger brakes- they will just overpower the traction your tires have easier- you need more grip on the pavement- Think about it- your 3400 lb machine, with 300+ hp touches the ground in just four tiny patches- not a place you want to skimp on....

yeah i know , when you say it like that it really makes you think, i really need to find some decent tires that perform well in the rain , since i live in florida , when it come to tires i really dont know much about what does best in different situations like rain

I have the Z rated General Tires in the stock size and they are scary in the rain, abs or not.

I run the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval in a 245-50-16. It is the best tire I have ever run in the rain next to the Firestone SV50 which is a rain tire. I can be going 35-40mph and hit my brakes as hard as I can and the ABS wont even come on. Tire Rack does a lot of test on tires go to their web site and compare different tires.

just put on 4 goodyear gt HP series 245/50r16 on and we will see how it goes lol

Do you mean the Goodyear GT HR? The HP is a "Wrangler" truck tire.

I wasn't aware Goodyear was still selling those. What is the date code on the tires?
