Question 97 Camaro steering wheel Play.

On my 97 Z28 the steering wheel has some play in it.
I can take the steering wheel and pull it down at the 6 o'clock position.
It has enough play in it that some times it will beep the horn.
My car does have a tilt wheel.
What could be wrong with it?
Thanks,

Re: 97 Camaro steering wheel Play.

That's a common problem with GM tilt wheels. There are four bolts that come loose. Fixing it isn't that difficult, but you have to disassemble the column down to the tilt mechanism to tighten the bolts. You also need a few special tools. You can find guides online. If you don't want to buy the tools you'll need to take it to a shop.
