94 Z Shock recommendations

I have a 94 Z with 53K actual miles. I think that the shocks are factory and in need of replacement. What shocks will give me the best ride quality without taking me to the poor house ? Thanks in advance.

Re: 94 Z Shock recommendations

Depends on what you want to do with it.

Just want to cruise? Get the Monroe-matic plus cheapies. Lifetime warranty and probably less than $175 for all 4.

Drag race or AutoX? Get out your wallet. KYB's, QA1's Koni's, Bilsteins...guys will argue on here for hours about which is best and even longer about which is the best value.

Post up a bit more info on your plans for the car and I am sure there will be no shortage of opinions to help you decide.

For me this is my daily driver so nothing too extreme is needed. Whatever will provide the best ride quality. Thanks, Dan.

Re: 94 Z Shock recommendations

I can't say for sure, but I am guessing the OEM DeCarbon's are slightly more stiff than the cheap Monroe's, but they are now 20ish years old, so the ride should be much better on the new ones.

Totally up to your wallet at this point. If you can find a good deal on adjustables, that's a great way to go.

How about Bilstein SLP's? Nice performance, reasonable comfort, not super-expensive.

WS6Store usually has nice pricing.
