Weird quote issue...

In some posts, whenever you quote somebody's reply, all of the capital letters are uncapitalized. I can't seem to see any correlation between the posts, so I have no idea what causes it. It's not like it affects anything, it's just some strange anomaly.

Example 1

Example 1a

In Example 1a, all capital letters have been lower-cased.

Example 2

Example 2a

Example 2b

Same as 1 and 1a with 2 and 2a. 2b is where JakeRobb notices it. Just figured I'd give you guys some homework to do.

Interesting...I'll bet it has to do with the "anti shouting" feature the board has. Good eye, we'll be looking into this and will fix what we can.

I'm going to play around with some quotes tomorrow during work and see if I can't figure it out. I was thinking it had something to do with that as well, but I'll have to try and pin it down. It'll give me something to do tomorrow.

Well I did some testing this morning, and I couldn't get it to duplicate for me. I tried a mixture of posts by people with usernames that were in all caps (including one whose post was lowercased before) and posts with usernames that just started in caps, and found a post with some all capital wording. They didn't get lowercased in any of the posts.

In the last two examples I posted, I quoted it with and without the picture thinking that it might make a difference. However, as you can see, neither of them had their letters' casing changed. I'm really stumped. It seems to be totally random. If I make another quote and the casing is changed, I'll screenshot it and post it here. Maybe some pattern will emerge.

Here's where it gets weird. I just quoted one of the replies that I posted in the first post in this thread. I wanted to see if it would alter the case again in the same way it did the first time. No change from teh original post at all when I quoted it.

Interesting, but I am not sure why that is happening. I will keep looking into it. Thanks!

Example 3:

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...19&postcount=5

I just noticed -- it even lowercases the username.

Clearly it is a glitch with the "prevent shouting" feature. I just replied to that last one and it didn't change it.

We have yet another site upgrade coming in the near future, this may fix it. Thanks for the homework, guys.

It just seems like it's completely random, because it doesn't even reproduce when the same reply is quoted twice. Oh well. It's not like it causes problems. It's just one of those things.

Here's a real head scratcher:

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...71&postcount=3

(Originally, that reply only contained the first line. I added the edit line later, but after 6Speed had already quoted it.)

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...81&postcount=7

The head scratcher is that it uncapitalized all of the letters except for the "I" in "If" beginning my second sentence. Usually when this happens, it uncapitalizes all of the letters, but the capitalization was preserved in that one word for some reason or another.
