still slow, and search not working

Re: still slow, and search not working
Maybe it is Browser related, I use firefox and it happens to me often.
I believe in a earlier thread about this he wanted times that it would happen like if it stalled at 1:32 PM he wanted to know, do you still want us to keep track of times, if so maybe there should be a thread or something for it.

Re: still slow, and search not working
It's slow for me occasionally, usually not too bad. What I've noticed recently with IE is that after I visit a page I hit the back button but nothing happens. When I hit back the first time, the status bar says "opening page http://media.fastclick.netblahablahblah" and then it changes to "127.0.0.1" but I never actually go back to the previous page. When I click the back button a second time, it works fine.

Re: still slow, and search not working
The search has worked the last few times I used it.
Have you guys found any problem causing slowness? When I think back it may have started when you guys switched to the new server. I really cant remember it happening before that.

Re: still slow, and search not working
Not sure if it helps but I have noticed that if I make the search criteria very specific it tends to fail more often and time out.
For example " oil pump drive shaft" failed miserably yesterday afternoon between 4 and 4:30 EST.
When I switched to "oilpump driveshaft" it seemed to like life better.
I don't know if the search feature just trys to find each individual word and gets bogged down or what.

I've noticed it also..and was just going to come in and start a post about it until I found this one
I've been a Member of this site since almost when it started and I've never noticed it acting like this until recently. I hope you guys find the cure soon...

You guys can post "it just happened again" all day long and that doesn't tell us a single thing.
We keep saying that we need specifics on what you guys are doing when "it" happens, and very few people actually take the time to type out a two minute post giving us info. Until then, we have nothing to go on and we can't help.
For example...
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=446889
There's dozens of posts in this forum with people complaining, yet not a single post in that thread to give us any info.

It happened when clicking on the first new post button once. Another time was using the forum jump I believe. Ill be more specific next time. The search has been working great recently.
