Please don't give into autoforums.com

I am preemptively posting this because I have seen several boards that I am a member of get bought out by the Canadian company Autoforums.com. This has not been a good change for the members on those sites, and has led many of the core, knowledgeable old-timers to jump ship and go elsewhere due to the non-stop advertising on the site, lag and slowness of the pages, and the lack of personal feel.

Now I don't know if you have been contacted by them yet, but I figured I would post this.

These are the guys that bought ThirdGen.org and Ls1Tech.com right?

Or is that the other one...?

I remember mention of it a while back and Mr. D said that wouldn't happen, and Mr. D wouldn't want to make a liar out of himself.

I believe they have already received (and turned down) such an offer.

Jason and Chris aren't in this site for money. They're in it because they're enthusiasts who care about fostering a great community around Camaro.

Jason has big plans for the future of this site. He alludes to them all the time. I don't think he'd sell out any time soon, unless it was for big money.

We have been running this site for 12 years. In that time, we have received quite a few of offers for it. We respectfully declined them.

I don't think I said that it would never happen, if I did I misspoke myself because Chris and I just don't know what the future will bring. However, at this time we don't have any plans for the site to be acquired by anyone and are not actively looking. Right now, we are more focused on adding some cool features to the site and getting ready for the next Camaro.

The concern is appreciated!

I am looking forward to the new features, whatever they may be. And I do respect the fact that Jason and Chris have stuck with their site and kept it in their care rather than selling out like so many others would be tempted to do. I believe it's a big part of what makes this such a great community.

(I'm trying to figure out how to throw in another dig about Camaro5.com here... I'm sure there's something...)

Yep! This site is home to me, and I'm glad it hasn't changed.

they probably could have retired by now if they had been. this site had potential to be a money maker.

ls1tech has not changed much since it was bought. same people still run it for the most part.
