Cars For Sale Section

How about having the poster list his state in the title of the ad?
Likw this : 1968 Camaro for sale in Florida......

That way people who live in that state can look strickly for local/ in state cars. Most people don't post the cars for sale in the state section....

Just a thought....

Yeah cause people who sell cars are intelligent.

They'll skip the must reads for posting rules and just post.

Now, if you just have someone delete their message until it starts following the rules, then you might have someone. I'm all up for trolling the for sale section doing it.

This is very true in many cases.

However, how about we put our heads together and create a "Tips on how to get the most out of selling your car here" type of post? I will compile it and make it a sticky.

We can use this very thread to post ideas. I think list of the top 10 tips would be best, the simpler the better.

Like this...
  • Good titles make for good sales.
Be specific in your title. For example, "2001 Camaro SS FS - 28k miles - loaded - some mods" will help buyers find you and avoid unecessary e-mails

Something like that. What do you guys think?

What about something like an automatic form? Year, make, model, state, price?

Have it so those areas are mandated to fill out, or they can't post the description and pictures? Then have a description area after those fields are filled out?

How about sub forums for the different generations? I know that if I am looking for a 3rd gen, I'm not gonna want to go through page after page of 4th gens just to find one...

And I like the idea of the form. Year, Make, Model, Trim, Miles, Price, State. Use that form as the title for the post and let them put whatever they want into the description

The software doesn't allow extra form fields to my knowledge and we are not able to hack things up to make that work, partly because of updates that are just around the corner. In the meantime, I am happy to proceed on what I mentioned above if people will add to the list.

I would just make a sticky and tell them a basic layout that is recomended to follow.....

So the top will be all tha basic, year make model, location mods etc.

Then they can ad the jazzed up BS stuff after that. I hate reading half a page to get basic info. Also I would add go tot www.(photobucket or whater).com and add pics, with an explanation since alot of people cant figure that out.

People won't follow it, maybe some will....but I don't have faith
