Manual Valvebodies and Lockup converters?

Once you go to a Manual Valvebody on a 4L60E or a 4l80E is the lock up feature gone? Is it possible to still utilize it with a switch for say highway use? I understand it would not be an automatic feature anymore. Thanks

If i wanted an answer like that i would have posted in LT1 Tech.

I helped a friend replace the lockup solenoid in his 4L60E, because if you don't remove it when you take the front pump out you break it. I don't remember if the solenoid was part of the valvebody or not. Would it still function via a switch with a manual valvebody. I know there is a auto tranny guru around

I am not sure. only kit I know of is the TransGo -3 kit. This is the same kit Art Carr is selling for it.

It all depends on how it is setup. if it is set up right you should be able to keep lock up

Then again it is a POS Trans Go kit

I just installed a 4L80E in my car and it has a manual valvebody and lock up torque converter. I even put a switch in so that I could activate the lock up feature manually.
