Holy ****! thank god for my fire extinguisher

Well I think I may have found what was causing the smoke. I fiexed my valvecovers this morning and went for a spin. smoke was still bad so i cam home, popped the hood, and lo and behold there was a small fire raging down near the dipstick tube. it went out quickly thx to the extinguisher.....

The disptick tube is really loose - could oil leaking from here cause an engine fire?

Good thing for the extinguisher! If you didn't have it you may have had to empty your bladder on it.......and pissing on your car is not cool.
I think I'll invest in one for my car.

Yes, Oil could come up the dipstick and catch fire on the headers.

brpolem is, your securing bracket for the dipstick is all 'gibbled' because of the headers.

You MAY have to get a new dipstick.

So what did you do to get the car running after all that?

Or is this a different car?

The opti was on wrong . We put it on right and she fired right up. Now I have to deal with massive oil leaks and bad electronics at the starter motor

Isn't that part of getting a stroker motor lol

Glad to hear the damage was minimal and well always good to keep a fire extinguisher in the car.
