02 V8 exhaust on 96 V6?

I was wondering if an exhaust off a 02 SS will fit on a 96 V6? I don't know if the Y pipes come out in the same location or not. Can anyone help me?

I think 02 LS1's have a dual cat system...

It can be done jsut need some custom exhaust work. I am pretty sure the y-pipe is 2.5in. on a 96 3.8L(someone verify, I know 3.4L Y-pipes are 2.5in.) so you wil need a reducer, to go up to the 3 in. exhaust.

I can tell you its a very worthwhile mod, stock v6 ipipe is 2.25 in. so you are putting a .75 in. bigger i-pipe, and better flowing muffler, and its one of the better soudning setups for a v6.

The y-pipe on a v6 will exit underneath the passenger seat, CAT, is under the passenger seat, you may want to cut the 3 in system back a little, and jsut have osme one do a custom setup.

As a priceing suggestion, I had a lt1 catback(2.75 in. I-pipe), cutout, and a CAt installed, they custom built a S-pipe for me to go form under passenger side to wear it meets the lt1 I-pipe.

cost me abotu $100, most he cost was a cusotm bent 2.5 in. pipe. I had trouble finding a shop that could even work with 2.5 in. piping.
