Car Craft photo of Z28 motor.

Anyone catch the photo of the Z28 motor? It was just a small underhood shot but I wonder if anyone else saw it and confirm it's the real deal.

I just took a quick photo. I hope it's clear enough. I don't know much about the motors to look at this picture and come to any conclusions. All I could really notice is that the Top of the motor I guess it would be the intercooler doesn't look like an LS9.
Headline reads "SPY PHOTOS"
The caption from the photo.
"If there were an '11 Camaro Z28, this is what the engine compartment might look like. We're just saying."

That is probably a powertrain mule (early test car), and there must be a new intake in the works to match the new powertrain. The Z28 air cleaner might be a good mod for the base car too, considering it is OEM designed to flow some big air...

Maybe some shop or tuner has already put in an LSA into a 5th Gen. That or they got the LSA supercharger on a LS3??

That's my bet as well. The way most people are leaning is towards the Z28 getting the LSA. Therefore CC came across a company that installed a LSA, and are pretty much saying that this is what a LSA Camaro would look like.

Well according to the caption you posted this is NOT the Z28 motor. They answered the question for you. They modified an SS to the way they would like and implied it. These are not "spy shots" as they suggested.

So they put a photo in the magazine to show what the Z28 motor doesn't look like?

I think they put it in there and phrased the caption the way they did because maybe they aren't exactly allowed to show the photo just yet.

I just got my February 2010 issue in the mail yesterday and saw it as well. FWIW, I've been a subscriber for over 30 years and I am familiar with editor Doug Glad's writing style. In the same issue there are a bunch of aftermarket Camaro tuner write-ups. including a mention that LPE is working on a bolt-on centrifugal huffer for the 3.6L V6. Was anyone here aware of this? I certainly wasn't.

They might know something.
