Competitve Mode Mistake?

Help - What happened? I put my 2010 SS in Competitive Mode and ran the revs high. When I dropped the clutch, it stayed stuck in and the clutch (I assume) created a burning odor. I assume I over reved the engine but did I damage anything? Why did the car not burnout? First time with a true standard tranny muscle car - my 1981 Vette was an automatic. Help a dope out - what did I do wrong?

competative mode is not for burn outs.its for launching. to do burnouts take the traction off completely. do this by pressing the traction button once. if you press it twice you turn on competative mode. you should have probably read about how to use them before doing that.

Competitive Mode

No doubt should have read the manual - the car is too fun and I had not yet taken the time. Just wonder if the smell from the over reving did any permanent harm?

What RPM were you holding it at? If it was not beyond the safe operating range of the engine, you most likely only damaged the clutch. Is it still making good oil pressure?

Talking

it work like a 2 step and it picks the determined rpm, put in competive mode@ a stop hold clutch in and you can't roll the throttle down you have to smash it, the rpm will set it self, mine went to 4600rpm and stayed their until i let the clutch go, it leaves slow @ 1st then it takes off, mite spin a few feet, almost bogs it down some. it works awesome technolgy is amazing now days.
