LS3 1-4 Shift ???

Is anyone else annoyed or having problems with this 1st into 4th shift crap???

I've have to do it a hand full of times because the stupid indicator comes on, but when it does come on I barely have enough forward momentum so then i put in 4th and she barely pulls through forcing the gear! On the operetion manual it specifically says if you put it in another gear other then 4th you can damage the trans.

CAGS...the old headache. Just give it a bit more gas in first before you shift. It takes some getting used to the first time but after a while you get a feel for the right time to shift.

and look in to a skip shift eliminator. They can be cheap, easy to install, and makes things much easier.

You can buy the same thing from Radioshack for $1-2. All it is is a resistor that tricks the PCM. I can't remember the correct value but if you do a search I'm sure you'll find a thread with the right info.

Yeah, that one works, but it's also $18. I looked up the resistor value for skip shift, its 2K ohms. So if you go to Radioshack, buy a pack of 2K ohm 1/2 W resistors for $1, you and 4 other people can use them to eliminate the skip shift. Just cut the signal wire, patch in the resistor, tape it up, and you are done.

unless an LS3 is different on this from an LT1 you should just be able to unplug the harness, plug in a resister to the one side and tape everything up...NO cutting involved.

Should be able to tune it out in the PCM, dunno if there's enough tuning support to do that cheap/free right now.

I get that too, and it is annoying. I have found that when it comes on if I push in the clutch and wait a second or two it will allow you to go into second. When I leave the post office and head to the next stop sign it is not that far at all so to give it that much gas to go such a small distance doesn't make sense.
